The story
When this railroad tunnel caved in on a work train in October 1925, at least two laborers were never recovered and remain entombed inside. Visitors to Jefferson Park above the sealed western portal describe screams, faint train whistles and a heavy presence, and the collapse is also the birthplace of the Richmond Vampire legend.
Visitors. Public park, free; tunnel sealed, western portal visible from outside only.
Location note. Tunnel is sealed; location given is the park above the western portal
