The story

Col. Fielding Lewis spent his last years in the master bedroom poring over debts from financing the Revolution, and he died there. Staff and visitors describe heavy boots pacing upstairs, doorknobs that turn on their own and fireplace tools found moved, along with a figure in 18th-century dress.

Visitors. Open to the public (house tours, admission).
