The story
Stories at Texas's oldest prison focus on the old death row corridor, used for executions from 1924 into the 1950s and now mostly empty. One widely repeated account says a supervisor recorded a disembodied voice saying 'Hey captain' there on Halloween night. Staff also describe cell doors clanging in the unused east wing and footsteps on a catwalk that stop when anyone comes close.
