The story

The best-known story here is a security guard's report of watching a chair move inside the locked Steamboat House, where Sam Houston died, during an after-hours round. Visitors and investigators also describe footsteps on the gravel paths with no one around, voices with no source, and a sense of being watched inside the Woodland Home.

Visitors. Open to the public (museum; small admission fee).
