The story
Local tradition says Walter Gresham, who built this 1893 stone mansion, appears outside the house when a storm is coming in from the Gulf. Visitors report being pushed or scratched on the front portico and feeling cold spots in the music room, and diocese members heard footsteps on the third floor during the house's years as a bishop's residence.
Visitors. Open to the public (Galveston Historical Foundation tours).
