The story
Long before Lovecraft wrote about it, this house carried a grim reputation from the Harris family's run of business failures and infant deaths, and the tale that Hannah Harris lost her mind and was kept in the attic. Local tradition also says it was built over a grave missed when Benefit Street burials were moved.
