The story
Five-year-old Johnny Morehouse drowned in the Miami and Erie Canal in 1860, and his stone shows him resting with his faithful dog. Late-night visitors say they've seen a small boy playing near the grave, sometimes with a dog, and Dayton's tourism board also notes reports of Civil War soldiers in the older sections.
Visitors. Open during the day (free; seasonal lantern tours ticketed).
