The story

Hikers crossing the old Continental Army winter camp describe the rhythmic tramp of marching boots just around a bend, which stops as soon as they reach it. On the Primrose Brook trail, a woman in colonial dress carrying a lantern is said to walk among the trees after dark and disappear before the next clearing.
