The story
Legend says student Sarah Wheeler hid a wounded Confederate soldier in 1862 and watched Union troops execute him beneath her window. Her figure is reported roaming the Senior Hall corridors at night, while the college auditorium is linked to actress and drama teacher Maude Adams through phantom footsteps and Shakespeare recited in empty rooms.
