The story
Harvard folklore tells of Holbrook Smith, supposedly of the Class of 1914, who returned each fall to chat with freshmen and walk through walls, though no record of his enrollment exists. When an assistant dean asked him to leave, he reportedly said 'You've ruined a perfectly good thing' and departed.
