The story
Rainey Bethea, whose 1936 hanging drew a crowd of about 20,000, lies in an unmarked grave in the Potter's Field here. Visitors have reported a figure near that section that they connect to Bethea, and some say they were touched or grabbed by something they could not see.
Visitors. Open to the public in daylight (cemetery; free).
