The story
Firefighter Robert Leland Knight was electrocuted in 1940, only twelve days into the job, after stepping into water charged by a downed power line. Crews who later worked at this 1927 station described a tingling in their legs like a mild current while relaxing, eyes reflected in dark TV screens and windows, and locked doors swinging open.
