The story

Dating to the late 1800s and described as Colorado's first inn, the lodge is said to be home to a little girl named Maddie, whose staircase is where dolls and stuffed animals shift position overnight. Other reports include doors opening on their own, scratching from empty rooms and plates flying across the kitchen.
