The story
Staff in the Public Defender's Office described books sliding off shelves, a stapler flying across the room and people tripped by nothing near the elevator, accounts a docent collected around 2005. A psychic later reported several presences, including civic leader Pearl Chase, who championed the courthouse's rebuilding after the 1925 earthquake.
Visitors. Active courthouse; grounds and free docent tours open to the public.
