The story
Visitors to the 1844 adobe report footsteps in empty rooms, furniture that moves between staff visits, an empty rocking chair photographed in motion and the feeling of being watched. A disembodied male voice is also described, which some link to John Temple, who sold the rancho under financial strain in 1866 and died the same year.
