The story
The hotel opened in 1996 inside the former United Verde Hospital, where thousands of patients died between 1927 and 1950. Guests report gurney wheels rolling across the third floor at 3 a.m. and a phantom cat on the bed, and maintenance man Claude Harvey, found crushed under the elevator in 1935, is said to ride the old Otis.
