The story
Hampton's city-run Horror Tours bring visitors to this churchyard and tell them about a suspected murder that was tried in local courts but never fully resolved. People on the tours and other visitors describe cold spots near the oldest markers and faint voices in the otherwise silent graveyard. The church was burned in 1861, and Union soldiers who camped in the ruins wrote of feeling uneasy there.
Visitors. Church grounds and cemetery open in daylight (free); ticketed evening ghost tours.
