The story
Every January 24 at about 7:30 p.m., occupants since at least the 1870s have reported the sounds of soldiers arriving: horses, boots on the stairs, clinking gear and the front door slamming. Owner Townshend Bolling made a family custom of gathering to listen, and the museum still holds an annual Ghost Watch on that night.
Visitors. Open to the public (museum admission; Ghost Watch tickets sold separately).
