The story
Archaeologists have found dozens of colonial-era burials around the plaza and the site of an earlier church, and local tradition says some of those early settlers still walk here. Visitors on clear evenings describe figures moving across the square, sudden cold spots and the feeling of being watched, and the plaza is a main stop on the city's free self-guided ghost walk.
Visitors. Open to the public (active cathedral and public plaza; free).
