The story

Visitors at dusk near Buddy Holly's grave have described snatches of guitar music with no source, accounts collected by local newspapers and Texas Tech student publications since the 1970s. A teenage legend says anyone who visits a carved angel on another grave must bow to it or be followed by a man in black, a tale with no historical basis.

Visitors. Open during daylight hours (free).
