The story

Hotel staff and tour guides tell of Audra, who waited in Room 501 for her sailor fiance and climbed to a turret each day to watch for his ship. Believing he had been lost at sea, she hanged herself in the west turret shortly before he arrived, and guests near Rooms 501 and 505 report the smell of gardenias and a sense of being watched.
