The story
This 1680 stone manor saw British occupation during the Revolutionary War, and former caretakers and visitors say soldiers from that era never fully left. The usual report is of translucent figures in 18th-century British uniforms walking the halls and rooms in the evening, moving with purpose as if still carrying out their duties.
