The story
This French Quarter shop is named for Marie Laveau, the Louisiana Creole Voodoo practitioner, herbalist, and midwife who became famous in 19th-century New Orleans. Her daughter, Marie Laveau II, carried on the practice of Voodoo, rootwork, and conjure. The shop draws visitors interested in the city's Voodoo traditions and the legends around the Laveau name.
