The story

Laid out in 1833 for the old City of Lafayette, this walled Garden District block filled quickly with yellow fever victims and later became a backdrop for Anne Rice's vampire novels. For years ghost guides spun tales among its tombs, but since the 2026 reopening the city allows only historical tours.

Visitors. Open for guided historical tours only (Save Our Cemeteries); ghost tours not permitted.
