The story
Tenants renting this 1858 Italianate mansion in the 1960s and 1970s told of noises overhead, lights and appliances switching on by themselves and small objects wandering between rooms. Investigators today focus on the basement, linked to an Underground Railroad story historians call unproven, reporting cold spots, footsteps and recorded voices.
