The story

The theater's legend, unconfirmed by records, concerns Alice Beckwith and Andre Doern, who lived in a house on the lot: Andre left to fight in the Spanish Civil War, and a pregnant Alice is said to have drowned herself in the Halifax River before he too was killed. A local paranormal research group investigated the building over two months in 2009.
