The story
After a 1903 fire left only the tabby walls of this 1850 sugar plantation house, campers said they heard footsteps and movement inside the ruins at night. One early story ended with cow hunters finding a free-roaming billy goat bedding down inside, but treasure hunters drawn by tales of buried plantation wealth still report eerie voices there.
