The story
Silver king Horace Tabor opened this opera house in 1879, and it once staged ticketed seances for packed crowds. Longtime owner Evelyn Furman recorded visitors who saw a heavy-set man with a mustache and gold watch chain standing beside her, a description that matched Tabor himself; a doorman, an actor and a female patron are also reported.
