The story
Opened in 1898 as a bordello for gold rush miners, the Red Onion now runs a saloon downstairs and a brothel museum upstairs. Lydia, a former madam, is said to haunt it, announced by drifting perfume and cold spots near the upstairs rooms.
Visitors. Open seasonally (saloon and museum, mid-April to late September).
