The story

Anchorage's first police chief, John 'Black Jack' Sturgus, was found shot with his own gun steps from the hotel in 1921, and his ghost is said to return to the scene. The hotel keeps a ghost log where guests record giggling children with none registered, flickering lights and moving curtains.
