The story

Visitors to this Georgian homestead describe flickering lights, voices and temperature drops, credited to first owners James and Eliza Cox. Misty figures have been seen at a main bedroom door, dolls switch places in the children's rooms, and paranormal investigators say a recorder once caught a clear, British-sounding voice asking 'Oh, what's this?'

Visitors. Open to the public (National Trust property; check opening days).

Location note. Near Evandale, about 30 km south of Launceston
