The story
Queensland's oldest surviving building was built by convicts in 1828 and worked by a punishment treadmill when the wind dropped; a prisoner died there in 1829. In 1841 two Aboriginal men, Mullan and Nungavil, were hanged from a beam at an upper window, the first legal executions in Brisbane, and it now stops on the city's self-guided haunted loop.
