The story
This 1870s mansion is said to be haunted by Maggie Hume, a 23-year-old maid who was unmarried and pregnant when she poisoned herself in 1891. Her story appears in Don Talbot's best-selling Ghostly Tales of Toowoomba, which helped give the city its reputation as one of Australia's most haunted towns.
