The story

For about 50 years before it became the film archive in the early 1980s, this Art Deco building was the Institute of Anatomy, where human and animal remains were dissected, studied and put on public display. Ghost guide Tim the Yowie Man calls it Canberra's most haunted building, citing trolleys that move by themselves, glasses of water thrown by no one, film spilling out of canisters and unseen touches on the shoulder.

Visitors. Open to the public (free entry; cinema and events ticketed).
