The story
Prime Minister Ben Chifley chose this early Canberra hotel over the Lodge and suffered a fatal heart attack on 13 June 1951, though accounts differ on whether he died in his room or on the way to hospital. Guests who have stayed in his old room report a ghostly presence, and people on the lawn below say they've seen a man in a grey suit at the window, pointing toward Parliament.
Visitors. Open to the public (hotel).
