The story

Sixteen-year-old Florrie Blundell died in 1892 from burns suffered in an ironing accident at this stone farm cottage. Visitors describe a sudden smell of burning with no fire nearby and a teenage girl seen playing in the garden, and local ghost guide Tim the Yowie Man says the people who sense her are most often young women wearing a necklace.

Visitors. Heritage cottage museum on Lake Burley Griffin; open on selected days (check National Capital Authority).
